Church Sites on Thursday

I have always wanted to take my kids to SLC to see the temple (other than at Christmas time in the dark) and other church sites. SO we set a day during spring break and headed out. My kids were lagging in the home until Grandpa called and offered to pay for the train ride down there. It is always fun to ride the frontrunner!Chester got bored so he took some fun pictures of me and grandpa. He does quite a good job!
A little blurry but look how cute my Dad is!

Then I stole the camera and took this picture of Solemn Chester! He is TOO handsome!

Our first stop was the church museum where they had the "I am a child of god Exhibit" It was perfect for my little ones! A lot of hands on things to do!
Pictures to color....
Miniature pulpits to stand behind!

CTR shields in different languages that you could Rub with Crayons....
Next, we headed over to the tabernacle. We were lucky enough to visit while someone was in there practicing the Organ! It was beautiful music!

Then to walk temple square. Water was the big hit with my kids! They loved all the fountains!

It was fun to have them walk right up to the temple and touch the doors and stand in the coves!
We also went to the very top of the Church Office buildings and looked down over SLC. After that, we headed over to the lion House for a quick snack. LION HOUSE ROLLS!!! DELICIOUS!!!

These two were life savers! I couldn't have done SLC without them! Plus, it's always more fun when Grandma and Grandpa come along!

Our final stop was the Conference Center. WE took the tour that they offered, and I must say this was my FAVORITE part of the day! It was a little long for the kids but the stories they told, the symbolic items and the pictures you got to look at were AMAZING!!!! You could definitely feel the spirit in that building!
After a long 5 hours it was time to head back home on Frontrunner! Grandma was the favorite for this trip home....

But whenever Grandpa is around...Chester is always by his side!
