Pyogenic Granuloma

Last Thursday in P.E, Cordell fell and hit his little growth under his eye. It bled and bled and bled.....So much that the school called me because they couldn't get it to stop. Every day since then, it would bleed at the slightest irritation. One morning he came running up because he rubbed it on his pillowcase wrong and it was bleeding. Anyway.........Yesterday we finally went to a Dermatologist for Cordell's little "blood blister' as we called it. He had it Diagnosed and Removed in about 30 minutes. You can read about it here...

Basically the nurse came in, gave him a shot of Local anesthetics right under the "Growth" then the Doctor came in with a flat razor blade looking thing. Told Cordell to close his eyes, shaved it right off his face and then cauterized it. We were in and out in about 30 minutes. Now he has just a little sore under his eye that will clear up and leave only a little scar on his face. MUCH better than a Red blister type of thing!

Cordell was VERY brave and didn't even cry when they did the shot. I was VERY proud of him and he was very excited to have it off because "now people will stop asking me about it" (his words) I didn't realize how much it was bothering him until I realized how happy he was to have it off!

Here is a picture of his little scar. I should have taken a before and after picture...But forgot.

His Black eye is from the injection

You'll have to ask Tucker about his identifying mole he finally had removed! :) He was quite fond of it. Let's just say it wouldn't be appropriate to post pics. :)
